Photography Competition
To mark the Bicentenary of the RNLI, the Isle of Wight RNLI Lifeboat Board invited entries to a Photography Competition featuring the coasts and seas of the Isle of Wight.
The theme was: “Island Seas – Safety and Splendour”. Entries in the form of attached digital images were required to be submitted via a special link with a deadline of 31July 2024. Up to three images per entrant were allowed.
There were three entry categories: (1): under 13 years, (2): 13 to 17 years and (3): 18 years and over.

Sadly there were no entries in the Under 13 category. However, judging of the photographs entered for categories (2) and (3) has now been completed and we are delighted to announce that the winning photograph in the 13 to 17 years category was Sophia Hendy’s “RNLI Lifeboat 17-25 at Hurst Castle” https://rnli200iowphotocomp.celebrationpage.org/Dedications/128464#dedication
and in the 18 years and over category was Michael Cooper’s “Alfred Albert Williams passing St Catherines Point at speed during the Round the Island Race” https://rnli200iowphotocomp.celebrationpage.org/Dedications/134451#dedication

Isle of Wight Photography Competition
To mark the 200th Anniversary of the founding of the RNLI, the Isle of Wight RNLI Lifeboat Board held a photography competition for amateur photographers of all ages (Islanders and visitors). Entries opened on 1 January 2024 and closed on the 31 July 2024.e 200th
Participants agreed to abide by the Rules of the Competition.
